Spring time is in Umpire. Yesterday, the high schoolers had a great time observing and interacting with a Luna Moth!

Happy Paraprofessionals Day!
A huge thank you to our incredible Umpire paraprofessional staff for all that you do! Your hard work, dedication, and support make a difference every single day. We appreciate you more than words can say!

A huge thank you to Rich Mountain Conservation District for coming to CRES and providing our 4th-grade students with an engaging Arbor Day presentation! We appreciate James Jacobs and Argus Floyd for taking the time to teach our students about the importance of trees and conservation. The students loved the presentation and were especially excited to receive their very own trees to take home and plant!

Graduation is getting real!
Our Umpire seniors received their caps and gowns today, marking the countdown to graduation! The excitement is building, and we can’t wait to celebrate their achievements.

Today marked the first FCA meeting at Umpire, and what a great start it was! An awesome topic, great discussion, and a strong foundation for what’s to come. We can’t wait to keep growing together!

*Important Information About the Upcoming Millage Vote in May*

At CRHS, Mrs. Lawrence’s personal finance classes compared the cost of purchasing fast food versus cooking the same thing at home. One student said, “It is insane how much cheaper it was to cook it at home.” Other students said, “I’m going to start cooking this at home because it’s cheaper and it tastes better. I can have this more often!”

Umpire High School Science classes ended the 3rd nine weeks full of hands on fun in preparation for the ATLAS test in April. Biology completed labs demonstrating photosynthesis and anaerobic vs aerobic cellular respiration and put it together in the Carbon Cycle game and tracing carbon atoms from their favorite breakfast foods. Physical science is investigating sound waves while 8th grade talks about light waves (and related phenomenon). 7th Grade is also investigating the carbon cycle but discovered why the biodome experiments in the 1990s failed (not enough decomposers to release the trapped carbon dioxide). There will be a lot more hands-on learning to continue after spring break and into the end of the year!

Peace Out, Umpire!
Our students are saying PEACE OUT to school and hello to SPRING BREAK! We encourage everyone to take this time to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and make memories with family.
Have a fantastic break, Wildcats! We’ll see you soon!

Welcome James to the 25 point club!
