As part of their Epidemiology unit, fifth and sixth grade GT students gathered samples from surfaces around campus to test for bacteria/fungi presence. Students collected from commonly touched surfaces such as handles, cell phones, and table tops and added samples to agar dishes . After a few days of incubation, students were able to compare the number, color, and size of bacteria colonies grown from different test locations. Although most bacteria/fungi grown were harmless or beneficial, some were potentially dangerous that cause infections/sickness. With this experiment, students quickly realized why washing your hands regularly is so important.

Because of the weather forecast, the home baseball and softball games against Foreman originally scheduled for Thursday, April 20, have been moved to tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19. Game time for both is 4:30 p.m. It is senior night for both teams.

Umpire 3rd through 10th grade will begin ACT Aspire testing on Tuesday morning. The students and staff have worked all year to "show what they know". Please ensure your student is on time and rested. We will have fun events planned in the afternoons after testing.
