Father-Daughter/Mother-Son Dance at Umpire Gymnasium on Tuesday, May 2nd. We are excited to celebrate all moms, dads, sons and daughters. Admission is $10 per couple or $20 a family. Drinks and sweets will be provided. As we near the end of a great year, come out and celebrate with your students.

The games are weather permitting. Travelers should plan accordingly for the chance of traveling to Fort Smith and games being canceled. It depends on many variables, including weather, and the teams' willingness to play in certain weather conditions. Thanks to all for understanding and patience as we coordinate with many schools and work around weather to get the games in.
There will be no district softball/baseball games at CRHS tomorrow, April 27 because of the large amount of rain in recent days. There will be one baseball game at Fort Smith tomorrow to accommodate games for all teams with the weather. The conference has not yet determined what will be done with remaining softball games.

Cossatot River Ranger Victoria Carson visited CRPS last week and explained the Life Cycle of a Butterfly to 1st graders.
As of right now, the softball/baseball district tournament games originally scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. today have been moved up to 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively. We will continue to monitor the weather and update if anything changes.

In honor of Earth Day on 4/22, our kindergarten classes went on a nature walk all around the CRPS campus.

As part of their Epidemiology unit, fifth and sixth grade GT students gathered samples from surfaces around campus to test for bacteria/fungi presence. Students collected from commonly touched surfaces such as handles, cell phones, and table tops and added samples to agar dishes . After a few days of incubation, students were able to compare the number, color, and size of bacteria colonies grown from different test locations. Although most bacteria/fungi grown were harmless or beneficial, some were potentially dangerous that cause infections/sickness. With this experiment, students quickly realized why washing your hands regularly is so important.
