Does your student need extra help in school? At CRSD, we take advantage of our four-day week to offer free tutoring to K-12 students on Mondays from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Students can get help with assignments, complete homework, or receive tutoring in areas if they are struggling with a concept. We offer breakfast, lunch, and limited bus transportation. No pre-registration is required, and students do not have to attend every Monday if they don't want to. Simply let your student's principal know you would like to attend! Here are the remaining spring 2023 dates (subject to cancellation with notice in the event of weather or other unforeseeable events): February 27, 2023 March 6, 13, 2023 April 3, 10, 17, 24, 2023 May 1, 8, 15, 2023

The Lady Eagles improved to 12-1 in conference, snapping Booneville’s 30-game conference winning streak on Friday night. The Lady Eagles just need a win tonight against Charleston to own a share of the 4-3A Conference Title and the #1 seed heading into the district tournament next week at Paris. The Lady Eagles have already clinched a spot in the regional tournament. Great job on the season so far and beating a very good and well-coached conference opponent! The Eagles will be the #5 seed heading into the 4-3A District Tournament next week at Paris. We are proud of both teams!

CRSD school board members recognized the Cossatot River Elementary Chess Team as the most recent Cossatot River Pride award recipients. This is the first year CRSD has had an elementary team, but our students have had a lot of success in tournaments. Chess tournaments consist of 60 or more students from multiple schools competing against one another. During these tournaments, most of our students placed in the top 10. In fact, Wyatt Roper placed first at the Caddo Hills Invitational, while Kaitlyn Dosch, Jase Richardson, and Paxton Boyd all placed third. Additionally, Brody Ward tied for 2nd place at the DMESC tournament. Chess teaches strategy, concentration, patience, and executive functioning. It requires students to think about two or three moves in advance. Most of our students have never played chess prior to this school year which shows their persistence and perseverance. Although our CRES Chess team has performed incredibly well during tournaments, their sportsmanship and behavior deserve the true spotlight. Whether they win or lose, they're quick to shake hands and offer a "good luck/good game" to their opponents. These students represent themselves, their parents, teachers, and CRSD in a way that showcases Cossatot River Pride. Our 3rd/4th grade team: Xander Broyles Kaitlyn Dosch Jase Richardson Wyatt Roper Rafael Salgado Brody Ward Our 5th/6th grade team: Adelyn Barton Paxton Boyd Joseph Dosch Kason Parmer Alex Sherrouse Falynn Ward The coach is Bethany Brantley. Our team is looking forward to upcoming tournaments in March and April.
