Umpire Elementary students were able to celebrate Cinco de Mayo yesterday thanks to the generosity of Poly and Mari Beltran, Felicitas Vertiz, and Santiago Maya Sr. They kindly donated piñatas to our campus, and the kids had a blast!

Cossatot River Kindergarten had a blast today at Mena Silver Screen theater. We watched King of Kings and ate lots of popcorn! We then spent the afternoon at the park with a picnic lunch and lots of playing. The kids said today was the best day ever! Thanks to Mrs. Renee Hendrix and her employees for making this a great field trip. Big thanks to all of our parents who helped us keep eyes on our bunch!

Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week at Cossatot River Elementary, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on mental wellness for our students and staff! Each day, we’ll have themed activities and classroom discussions to help students build emotional and social skills that support their overall well-being.

Yesterday was National Principals Day, and even though we didn’t get a picture, we couldn’t let the moment pass without honoring the heart of Umpire Schools — Mrs. Stephens.
This year has brought unimaginable challenges, yet she continues to lead with strength, grace, and unwavering dedication to our students, staff, and school community. Her resilience inspires us, and her love for Umpire shines through in everything she does.
Mrs. Stephens, thank you for the countless hours, the quiet sacrifices, and the strong leadership you show every single day. We appreciate you more than words can say.
